Education Model:

International Baccalaureate (IB)

At IPS, our International Baccalaureate (IB) schools emphasize inquiry, collaborative learning, critical thinking, and student agency. These educational models seek to develop socially responsible contributors who recognize their shared humanity and guardianship of the planet and strive to create a more peaceful world. All IPS Center for Inquiry (CFI) schools also follow the International Baccalaureate organization model.

IB Primary Years Programming (PYP) Students participate in six units focused on global themes that incorporate math, science, social studies, reading, writing, arts, and physical education through transdisciplinary teaching, where students apply knowledge and skills from multiple disciplines to help shape the learning experience.

Carl Wilde School 79 is a candidate school* for the Primary Years Programme. This school is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. IB World Schools share a common philosophy- a commitment to high-quality, challenging, international education- that we believe is important for our students. Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its four academic programmes. Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorization will be granted. For further information about the IB and its programmes visit http://www.ibo.org.
